On Saturday May 1st 2010, the sisters of Kappa Alpha Theta will be hosting members of the Cornell community at 519 Stewart Avenue, the chapter’s official house, for an outdoor barbecue with live musical performances and an exciting raffle.
The event will last from 4:00-7:00pm on the patio with three bands performing for this wonderful charity event. The three bands include One Trick Pony, AwesomeAWESOMES, and Weggalo Star.
The raffle will consist of baskets containing gift certificates to local businesses in the Ithaca area, especially restaurants in Collegetown. All proceeds raised will be donated to Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). CASA is a nonprofit network supporting and promoting court appointed volunteer advocacy for the abused and neglected.
All the sisters of Kappa Alpha Theta are looking forward to a fantastic evening to benefit an extremely worthy cause. In fact, members of the Theta community have had relatives who have been CASA volunteers who make sure neglected children don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in an inappropriate group or foster home.
As members of the Fraternity and Sorority community, we invite you especially to come enjoy great food, people, and music at our house.
